Our clients, whether public or private, face the problems of constructing projects that will exhibit good performance with low future maintenance costs that can be built in a practical, constructible, and cost-effective manner. Adverse foundation and ground water conditions often threaten project performance and significantly increase construction costs. Both public and private clients continually strive to balance good project performance against escalating construction and material costs.
Black Eagle Consulting, Inc. provides geotechnical engineering and construction inspection services for a wide variety of transportation, power plant and utility, industrial, commercial, and residential projects.
Our geotechnical designs assure project performance and provide practical and cost-effective solutions. Our construction services assure clients with codes, plans, and specifications and therefore assure the completed project will perform as designed.
Our first step with a new client is to make sure they share the same project goals and philosophies. We got to where we are by being the best at what we do, so that performance of the completed project has to be a common shared priority of clients and consultants. If it is not, it is simply not a good match and the client is best served by looking elsewhere. The next step is to have a complete project understanding so that we can tailor our scope of services exactly to the project needs. We can readily demonstrate our experience with every type of project so that the client can be comfortable with their selection of Black Eagle Consulting, Inc. as his geotechnical and construction services consultant.
Many of our projects involve future monitoring and subsequent recommendations for maintenance. For example, paved streets and parking lots typically have a design life of approximately 20 years, during which the recommendations for maintenance are advanced. At the end of the design life, recommendations for remediation are formulated. Our involvement in maintenance activities gives us valuable insight into what products and designs perform best.
Black Eagle Consulting, Inc. is continually involved in training and education of the project team, whether it be our internal staff or that of the client, other designers, and contractors. The best projects are designed and constructed by a fully-informed and coordinated project team. For example, we commonly give routine seminars in geotechnical design and construction material issues to local agencies, developers, and contractors.
Our geotechnical professionals hold various degrees in engineering, hydrogeology and engineering geology. Three of our design professional hold doctorate degrees, several have master’s degrees. Our inspectors are certified by the International Codes Council, the American Concrete Institute, the American Welding Society, the American Society of Nondestructive Testing, and the Nevada Alliance of Quality Transportation Construction. Our laboratory facilities are certified by the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials and the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratories. Our geotechnical staff has specific expertise in foundation design, geologic hazards, and construction engineering. Our field inspectors and technicians have specific experience in all aspects of construction, material testing of soils, asphalt, concrete, structural steel and other building materials.
Black Eagle Consulting, Inc.’s success is due to a combination of our service to the client, our technical expertise, our many years of experience and knowledge of local conditions, as well as our ability to attract top-notch professionals to our firm.
The great majority of our work comes from repeat clients. Our project performance is renowned. We are known as the geotechnical firm that has the ability to solve the most complex issue in the most practical and cost-effective manner. We also strive to make our state a better place. We encourage our staff to become involved in community service. We give two college scholarships to the University of Nevada, Reno. We began this donation within one year of our inception when we were still a small company. Our staff has served on the advisory board to the University of Nevada, Mackey School of Mines in geological engineering as well as the Nevada State Earthquake Safety Council. We commonly serve on technical committees and lecture at seminars, and also promote wildlife conservation through our participation in several wildlife groups.
